Situated in coastal Northumberland, Holy Island (also known as Lindisfarne) is one of if not the most beautiful location in the county.

Renowned for it's tidal location, twice a day the North Sea rushes over the causeway and cuts the island off from the mainland. Only then can you appreciate the real beauty of the place.

You have to remember that this is an island and it is cut off from the mainland twice a day by the North Sea.

We will advise you of safe crossing times and if you wish, there is a tide table booklet available in the local shop and post office which are both open daily.

Known as England's 'Secret Kingdom', there are a wealth of things to see and do in Northumberland.

It doesn't matter if you want an active, full-on holiday, or a quiet, relaxing time during your stay in Margie's self-catering holiday cottage; you can have it all in Northumberland.
